Raised Foil Premium Cards are double-sided business cards with metallic foil in gold or silver on selected parts of your design, such as a logo or your name. The foil is raised, so you can feel it with your fingertips as well as see it. They come in one size, 2 x 3.5 in, with straight or round corners, and you can order 250, 500 or 1000 cards.
Foil is applied only where you choose, so it is marked on a separate artwork layer: you send your print file plus a foil file showing where the foil goes. Card stock thickness is measured in points, where one point is one thousandth of an inch, so 19pt is about 0.019 in thick. Both sides print, with the same design or a different design on each side.
Production time is 5-7 business days. This covers production only, not shipping or delivery. You can also add an emailed PDF proof to check your card before it goes on press, or add professional design help if you do not have a print-ready file.

19pt with raised foil
Both sides are printed. The raised foil is applied only to the parts of your design you choose, in the foil colour you select. 19pt is about 0.019 in thick.
Matte or gloss coating?
Choose Matte or Gloss Finish in the Coating Options menu. Both are the same price.
What do the order options mean?
Production time only: the time we take to print your order, 5-7 business days. It does not include shipping or delivery. Corners: choose straight or round. Round corners add $15 on orders of 250 and 500 cards and $25 at 1000 cards. Proofing: print as is, or have an emailed PDF proof sent to you to check before printing ($5, charged once per order). Hire a designer: add professional design help ($25, charged once per order) if you do not have a print-ready file.

What size is it
The card size is 2 x 3.5 in.
How many cards can I order?
Choose 250, 500 or 1000 cards.
Can I print a different design on each side?
Yes. Choose Double-Sided, Different Design. Send the front and back as separate files, or as a two-page PDF labelled front and back.
What is raised foil
Raised foil is a metallic foil pressed onto selected parts of your design so it sits slightly above the card surface and can be felt by touch. Choose gold or silver from the Foil Color menu. You mark the foil areas on a separate file when you upload.
Does the foil colour change the price
No. Gold and silver are the same price.
How long does production take?
Production takes 5-7 business days. This is production time only and does not include shipping or delivery.
Can I see a proof before my cards are printed?
Yes. Add the Email PDF Proof option and we will email you a PDF to check before your cards go on press.
Low-resolution files
Images saved from a website, social media or a screenshot are usually too small and print blurry or pixelated. Build your file at the full card size, at a resolution of 300 dpi, or start from a high-quality original. Stretching a small image to fit does not add detail.
Uploading RGB instead of CMYK
Screens use RGB, but printing uses CMYK. An RGB file will still print, but colours can shift, especially reds and bright blues. Set your file to CMYK before you export so what you approve is closer to what prints.
No bleed
If your background or image runs to the edge, extend it 0.125 in past the trim on every edge so a thin white edge does not show after trimming.
Text or logos too close to the edge
Keep your name, phone number and logo at least 0.125 in inside the trim, and away from the corners if you choose round corners. Anything closer to the edge can be trimmed off or look cramped.
Wrong size or scale
Build the file at the card size, 2 x 3.5 in, at 100%, not a smaller size scaled up. The free template on the Templates tab shows the size, bleed and safe area.
Live fonts and transparency
Convert fonts to outlines and flatten transparency and layers, so nothing changes or goes missing when we open your file.
Missing foil file
Foil needs its own file showing exactly where the foil goes. Send it as a separate page or file, the same size as your card, with the foil areas in solid black on a white background, and label it clearly as the foil layer. Without it, we cannot tell which parts should be foiled.
Foil on fine detail
Foil works best on bold shapes, logos and larger text. Very thin lines, tiny text and fine detail may not foil cleanly, so keep foil areas simple.

Unsupported file types
We accept PDF, AI, PSD, PNG or JPG, up to 25MB. Other file types, such as EPS or TIFF, cannot be uploaded.
